The epicenter center WenChuan is part of the area which Dalai Lama is seeking to govern. Since the 5.12 earthquake, what he has been doing? Imagine WenChuan were under his governing now, what the situation would be?

Since British invaded Tibet and tried to break Tibet away from China since 1888, and then US played active role in pursuing that goal, France did not participate. Now I do not know why President Sarkozy stands out to play human rights game against China.

People in Tibet are so happy to be liberated from the darkest feudalism controlled by Dalai Lama and aristocrats, I cannot understand what France is doing. I do not know what direction President Sarkozy is trying to lead France to?

France is one of permanent members of UN Security Council, also President of France has the most power comparing with other presidents in western countries, the president’s words and deeds needs to be particularly careful, he needs to think of strategy and direction for France. Regardless how much he loves US and hates China, he should think of France, 60 million French, not just his own preference and emotion.

If President of China visiting another country was to seek justice for his model wife, what French would think of him? This behaviour tells something!

Many countries are still in war, oil, food, resources prices are up, population are growing fast, so lots of actual problems in the world, why do you guys try to manufacture chaos in China? Stable China is beneficial to France, to the world, is not it a common sense?

I wish France can prosper, not become directionless, US-led, emotionally unstable, narrow-minded or backwards under President Sarkozy.

The whole episode: Tibet riots - torch reply disruption – Sarkozy’s calling for boycotting Olympic opening ceremony – Paris Mayor’s offering honorary citizenship of Paris to Dalai Lama, if this episode not planned by humans, would be by Dalai Lama’s praying, do not you agree?

During this episode, hundreds of thousands of Chinese overseas spontaneously came out to protest the media bias. Many western medias, politicians, scholars said it was due to the rise of Chinese nationalist and government propaganda. Is this really nationalist or government propaganda? To get it right is important for Western countries to deal with China.

The fact is high percentage of those coming out to protest are adult Chinese who have studied and worked overseas many years. Most of them are bilingual or multilingual (Chinese & English, Chinese & French, Chinese & German, Chinese & Japanese, etc).

The anger is not just due to the media bias during torch relay, but the bias has been consistently so for more than one and half centuries. If you can stand in Chinese shoes to watch “55 days at Peking”, and read articles and watch TVs all those years, you would understand.

Media bias is not just the result of journalists, but the combination of politicians and journalist. President Sarkozy, German Foreign Minister, Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, all come out calling Tibet riots a peaceful protest!

I hardly see a western media talking good things China did, while promoting Tibet as paradise under Dalai Lama, covering the fact it was feudalism before 1959, 5% aristocrats controlling 95% land and assets, Dalai Lama was the biggest salve owner. Does President Sarkozy know this fact or he really does not know?

China central government has made significant effort in improving the people’s life in Tibet for the last 50 years. The averaged life expectancy of Tibetan people increased from 35.5 years before 1959 to now 67 years. More than 1000 schools have been built in Tibet since 1959, school aged enrolment is over 98% comparing with 98% illiterate before 1959. While the average life expectancy for Australia aboriginal men is only 59, 17 years less than non-Aborigines. And most of Aborigines have been driven to desert! Anyone protested in Sydney Olympic about this?

The damage of media bias is not so much to China, but more to do to its own citizens (French, German, etc.), they are fooled by politicians and journalists. So many westerners are shocked with China’s rise, because media and politicians did not report the infrastructure building in China, the right policies made, the merits of Chinese, but all negative stuff. They like to portray China as same as in 1970 or even 1900. Media bias made lots of French miss the opportunity to invest in China on time (or invest properly). China is rising. Westerns have to adjust themselves to accept it. Chinese people work so hard, do not they deserve a better life? Arrogance and prejudice does not do any good to the person himself.

Imagine if media in China report the following countries, it often accompany the images such as the conditions of Aborigines lived in Australia, the African suffered due to British and France colonial policy, the Holocaust committed by German Nazi, Japanese killing Chinese for meat consumption or taking heart out of live Chinese for experiment, American’s African slavery policy, the corpse floating around months after Hurricane Katrina, Chinese people would have very negative view about the world.

Make judgement based on facts, not your prejudice and arrogance, it is essential for developing your own citizens’ healthy mentality and for your own countries development.

During this episode, hundreds of thousands of Chinese overseas spontaneously came out to protest the media bias.
Media bias is not just the result of journalists, but the combination of politicians and journalist. President Sarkozy, German Foreign Minister, Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, all come out calling Tibet riots a peaceful protest!

Most time French media portrayed China in negative way in the last one and half centuries, in contrast, China portrayed France in positive and romantic way probably because Communist party appreciated France so much in establishing diplomatic relation with People’s Republic of China.

Although countries like France, US, UK, AU are free-speech countries, their media is controlled by big corporations, not government, but the media and government relationship is always tightly connected. A party wanting to be elected must be an expert in utilizing media for getting people to vote for them, and media corporations need to have good relationship with government for getting best business operating environment.

In countries like France, Australia, US, UK, media can be critical to parties and government in their own country, but in dealing with other countries, it is always aligned with its own country’s strategic position. It is naïve to think US, UK or France media would be objective to China. French are humans, they have patriotism. French companies always protect their own countries interest. When Airbus negotiates business with China, they go together with their government ministers!

France has lots of beautiful things, but also dog shits everywhere, almost in every city. Transportation union has the power to paralyse the whole country’s traffic flow. France has had many riots. One just happened when President Sarkozy was in China last year! China has lots of problems too. But China also has lots of beautiful things.

Chinese especially insider China, are shocked with French’s reaction to Torch relay and China, partly because Chinese people beautified France too much, they could not imagine a good friend would treat them like that. French have too much negative view about China because they have been fed with the negative image of China and Chinese for so long.

Most of French did not know Tibet was in feudalism under Dalai Lama. Lots of French did not know France invaded China together with British, and burnt the YuanMingYuan (Summer Palace), because they could not believe France could work together with British because they fought each other all time! They united against China, but no so much other times! So you can see their media views toward China are similar. It has been like that for long time. Now because of Internet, it helps people in China know more what is going on outside.

Many westerners might still think many young Chinese are still holding the Chairman’s Mao’s red book. In fact, Deng XiaoPing, who was the one of biggest victim of the Culture Revolution (one of his sons lost one limb) brought China to right direction, acknowledged many policies, e.g. Culture Revolution, Great Leap Forward, and Commune System were totally wrong.

But you can often see pictures on Western media of young Chinese holding the red book even now. Chinese are victims of the Culture Revolution, it is painful experience, but Western media like to use that to make fun of Chinese! So ordinary westerners believe what is on TV!

French and Westerners will not change their attitude toward China in short time. It will change after China becomes more developed, most of quality goods are designed, invented, made by China. It is more difficult to change someone than changing yourself!

Lots of Chinese admires Napoleon so much, but they seem not knowing that Napoleon III invaded China and burned YuanMingYuan. Blindly beautifying or uglifying anything always lead to stupidity and distortion of reality.

It is a good lesson to Chinese inside China to know the moon is the same one, it is the distance between your foot and the moon making you feel it is different.

Of course, France has so lots good and advanced things for China to learn. If Deng XiaoPing and Zhou EnLai had not studied in France, but like Mao ZeDong stayed in China whole life, likely Deng XiaoPing would not have the vision of reforming the China and open the door to the world in 1978!

Whether French would try to learn the real China is not decided by China. Looking at the tones of many politicians and media in Western countries, it has long way to go. Also in the past, many countries met Dalai Lama, but France did not. But since President Sarkozy is in power, he is so actively supporting Dalai Lama clique, the representative of aristocrats, I hope it is not something to do with his own background.

Good relationship between countries is built not on words, but actual actions. Equal relationship is based on strength and capacity. No one does economic sanction to US, only US does to other countries! US controls the world in military, media and economy, even culture. Luckily France is very proud of its own culture, not drown in it YET!

I do not mean to get things personal. But before President Sarkozy era, France did not meet Dalia Lama even many countries did. Since President Sarkozy is in power, he is so actively supporting Dalai Lama clique.

I was wondering whether President Sarkozy sympathize Dalai Lama and his clique, a representative of aristocrats, so much is due to the fact that he is coming from a family of Hungarian aristocrats which was negatively affected by the communists?

There is a saying about French “’Spring work, Summer vacation, Autumn strike, Winter festival”. France is having economic problems, but it does not do any good to blame external factors (though this is politicians’ best excuse to get elected and staying in power), they should really look at internal problems, such as rigid labour law, no business on Sunday, overly glorify the past, union power, overly anti-business culture.

President Sarkozy was elected because French people expected him to reform France, but I do not think they like him to Americanise France. In this Tibet issue, President Sarkozy obviously trapped in the US plan. Thinking about it, why the little George Bush has been silent, but Sarkozy is in the front line, while US providing exiled Tibetans with huge financial, media support.

President Sarkozy has the best skills in getting him elected, but I do NOT see he is a wise, rational and visionary leader for France.

1.	Before 1959, 98% of population in Tibet were illiterate. Now the enrolment rate for primary school is above 98%. Do you want these school-aged children study religion or science in school?
2.	Do you want people in Tibet be treated with modern medicine and checked up with modern medical equipment or by praying only?
3.	Do you think people in Tibet should have modern transportation?
4.	Do you think students in Tibet can only be taught Tibetan language or should be both Tibetans and Chinese?
5.	Do you want a religions leader who is considered as god’s son by himself and his followers to be a political leader?
6.	Do you think Dalai Lama and his cliques have the right to be the political leader in Tibet now considering the population has more than doubled and majority people living under his rule before 1959 were slaves?
7.	Do you think Dalai Lama clique opposing all the necessary infrastructure building is for or against human rights?
8.	Do you think Dalai Lama allowing his followers to consume his bodily waste as medicine is for or against human rights?
9.	Do you think his request for all non-ethnic Tibetans moving out of Tibet for his proposed Autonomous Tibet Region is for or against human rights?
10.	Do you think it is true that people in Tibet do not have religion freedom while you can easily see so many monks in monasteries?
11.	Do you think China central government was wrong or right in abolishing the feudalism in Tibet in 1959?
12.	Do you think those who refused to abolish the feudalism are for or against human rights?
13.	Do you think the polygamy in Tibet is for or against human rights?
14.	Do you think people like Dalai Lama clique refused to abolish feudalism understand what human rights is about?
15.	Do you think those aristocrats who began army uprising in 1959 were for 1.27 millions Tibetans or just only those 5% aristocrats?
16.	Do you think if China central government had not abolished the feudalism, would Dalai Lama and his clique have abolished the feudalism? Would the 95% population have the right and freedom to go to school, right to become monk, right to choose profession, right to choose religion other than Dalai Lama’s Buddhism as now?
17.	When Dalai Lama and his clique were talking about culture genocide in Tibet, do you know what culture he was talking about?
18.	While Dalai Lama drives latest model cars, flying first class cabin, sleeping in 5 star hotel, wearing Gucci shoes and sunglasses, eating meat, speaking English, can people in Tibet not have the right to enjoy this except him - a god’s son?

I hope politicians should know what they are actually doing. If some basic things got wrong, then there is no credit left for these people in any stage. I hope President Sarkozy and Mr Betrand Delanoe lead their team to study the facts, have some logic and common sense before talking about human rights issue in Tibet and supporting Dalai Lama clique’s cause.

Cher Jean-Pierre Raffarin,

China’s population is 3 times of European Union. Thinking about how difficult to manage the EU, French people should know how difficult to manage a country like China. Moreover, most of countries in EU are developed due to their policies also undeniably the robbery from other countries including China.

When People’s Republic of China was established in 1949, it was so poor, because China was almost ruined by Western “civilised” countries (France was the one of the first invaded China) and Japan for a century, plus all the movable valuable assets was taken by the Nationalist party to Taiwan.

After 1949, China government tried to catch up with the Western countries by implementing unrealistic policies which brought the country backward, and Culture Revolution made the whole country upside down. What Western countries were doing that time, laughing! After 1978, Deng XiaoPing finally brought the China to the right direction. In the last 30 years, the achievement is obvious to the whole world. If Western countries including France care about human rights in China, they should not use human rights as tool to bash and denigrate China and Chinese. Chinese people are not so stupid that they can not distinguish between genuine and ill-intended.

China is still a poor and developing country. France is more developed than China. That is why thousands of Chinese are studying in France. But French are not better humans than Chinese, just look at all the civilised Western countries have been doing in the world in the last three centuries.

Westerners like to say Chinese are brainwashed, actually I found people living in “free-speech” countries are so brainwashed, because they so blindly believe their media, they do not analysis. Analysing is ability. In contrast, Chinese people know all media only tells partial story, so they hold the benefit of doubt for all media. I found Western media actually often tell lies so boldly beyond imagination. We should know we all are brainwashed in certain degree. In this way, we less likely make judgement based one article or one person or group’s say.

I hope President Nicolas Sarkozy and all people in important positions understand China is not a robot, but a country made up of 1.3 billions people who work hard for a living. The innocent people killed in the riots are humans, they deserve the respect as any humans do. Calling the riots as peaceful demonstration is an insult to the dead, injured and their loved ones. The dead could not tell you what they think, but I hope France should pay attention what the 1.3 billions Chinese all over the world are saying.

If Dalai Lama has any sense of being a spiritual leader rather than a political leader, he should come out to tell the truth. He and his clique has lied to the world for more than half century, they manipulated so many warm-hearted innocent people in the world in pursuing their absolute power. Dalai Lama has never told the fact his urine and shit was collected for followers to consume. He made his followers believe he is the son of God. Is that human rights?

Merci

Cher Mr Raffarin,

Hope to share those informations with the Chinese friends, and also hope this blog of Mr Raffarin won't be filtered by the Chinese government.
